The Portland Trail Blazers winger is part of coach Gustavo de Conti’s squad for the 2023 World Cup qualifying windows, which will be held on Thursday (25) and Monday (29), and the 2022 AmeriCup , which will take place in September, in Recife (PE).
In a video posted by Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB), the 23-year-old from Cachoeirense, spoke enthusiastically about his return to the team. “Very happy to be back and to be in this wonderful group,” said the capixaba.
Didi also highlighted the challenges ahead with the Brazilian team shirt. “We have two very important windows, the World Cup qualifiers and the AmeriCup. […]. We trained hard to get there and do our best,” concluded the athlete.
In the qualifiers, Brazil faces Puerto Rico on August 25 at 9:10 p.m., playing at home. Then they receive Mexico, playing on the 29th, at 7:30 p.m. in Jaraguá do Sul (SC). The Brazilian team is in the hunt for a place in the 2023 World Cup which will be jointly hosted by Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia.
In the AmeriCup, the Seleção travels to Recife (PE) and faces Canada on September 2 at 8:10 p.m. In addition to the Canadians, Brazil have commitments against Uruguay and Colombia in Group A.
