Doctor Marcos Gadelha left the Izolda government on Monday (1). He was Executive Secretary of the Ceará Health Department. Marcos became Dr. Cabeto’s successor in August last year. According to initial information, the motivation for leaving the post was personal.

Who is Marcos Antonio Gadelha?
Born in Fortaleza, Ceará, he graduated from the Federal University of Ceará (1992) and has a postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine at the Walter Cantídio University Hospital and in Cardiology at Dr. Carlos Alberto Studart Gomes (Hospital Messejana). Graduated in intensive care by the Associação de Medicina Intensiva Brasileira (AMIB), he is also specialized in intensive care medicine, by the Society Of Critical Care Medicine – Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS), and in patient safety, by the National School of Public Health (Ensp./Fiocruz).
He was Coordinator of the Intensive Care Units of the Regional Hospital da Unimed Fortaleza and participated in the process of accreditation by the National Accreditation Organization (ONA) and Canadian International (ACI) of the Regional Hospital of Unimed Fortaleza as a member of the management team. At Messejana Hospital, he was coordinator of the postoperative cardiac surgery unit, coordinator of the patient safety center and general manager.
He served as Deputy Secretary of Health of Ceará from August 2015 to December 31, 2018. He served as Executive Secretary of Health Policies of Ceará and currently serves as State Secretary of Health.
