green april – The April Verde national campaign aims to raise everyone’s awareness of the importance of preventing accidents at work. Workplace accident prevention actions are concentrated in April, because the period has two important dates on the subject: World Health Day (7/4) and Day in memory of victims of work accidents and occupational diseases ( 28/4). The second date, established at the initiative of Canadian unions, was chosen because of an explosion that killed 78 workers in a mine in the state of Virginia, United States, in 1969.
