On the occasion of the Day against fake news, April 3, the School of Communication, Media and Information (FGV ECMI) promotes the webinar “Challenges and strategies in the fight against fake news”. Open to the public, the event will take place on April 27, at 6 p.m., on the FGV’s YouTube channel.
For the debate on the main challenges of the fight against disinformation in the context of digital communication, the School invited Natália Leal, CEO of Lupa; Lorena Regattieri, Senior Fellow in Trustworthy AI at the Mozilla Foundation; Rafael Evangelista, postgraduate professor in scientific and cultural dissemination at Unicamp; and Victor Piaia, professor at the FGV ECMI.
Disinformation has become a serious problem in the digital communication ecosystem and has caused many problems for democracies and different areas of our society. Circulating on different platforms and in different formats, fake news directly impacts contemporary communication flows, particularly in the political field.
The webinar is part of the Digital Communication Cycle in 2024, which is a series of open and free activities to discuss key topics for digital communication, organized by FGV ECMI.
