Singer The Weeknd won the highest number of monthly listeners in Spotify’s history on Monday (27). The Canadian reached the 100 million viewer mark on the platform and set a record, being the first to reach the amount.
The artist has been the most heard singer on the platform since last October, when he overtook Ed Sheeran. At that time, the Canadian recorded a peak of 78 million listeners. Since then, it is number one of the most listened to.

The 100 million monthly listener mark was crossed after the artist released the remix of Die For You, in partnership with Ariana Grande, last Friday (24). The exploit debuted with over 9 million streams.
Released last January, Dawn FM, the artist’s fifth album, was placed on the list of one of the best-selling albums of the time in the United States.
Among the most listened to Spotify, after The Weeknd, we find: Miley Cyrus (83.5M) being the second most listened to artist, followed by Taylor Swift (80.3M), Ed Sheeran (77.5M) and Shakira (77M ).
The Weeknd has shows scheduled in Brazil in October this year. The singer made two presentations in São Paulo (10 and 11), and one in Rio de Janeiro (7).
