This Sunday morning the driver Max Verstappen won the Spanish GP, as in the last races he took another victory of his career. The race was marked by a very turbulent start, however, this did not affect the current Formula 1 champion. Besides the Dutchman, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell closed the top 3.
The opening laps were eventful, in addition to Verstappen having started well and having a collision with Carlos Sainz for the first position, the Canadian Lance Stroll surprised and had a good start, shortly after Hamilton took third place. McLaren, who made their best grid in the standings, had problems with Lando Norris after contact with Lewis, had to pit and stopped in last place.
Around the halfway point, Verstappen pitted and continued to lead the race with ease, unlike teammate Sergio Perez, who due to the difficulties in qualifying was in ninth place. Russell reported on the radio that it was raining at Turn 5, but there was a mistake by the Brit as his engineer retorted that he was the only one who reported it and that it was probably sweat splashing on his visor. Ferrari, which had problems with Charles Leclerc in qualifying, did not have a good race due to errors in strategy.
With just a few laps to go, Hamilton and Perez switched to soft tyres, then Yuki Tsunoda was given a five-second penalty for forcing Guanyu Zhou off the track. Verstappen exceeded the track limits for the third time and was warned that if it happened next time he would face a penalty. Despite everything, it remained dominant throughout the race, the Mercedes improved and closed the podium. The next GP is in Canada, winning, the Dutchman can match the victories of Ayrton Senna.
