A Aim carried out this Wednesday (19) a new series of dismissals, this time affecting engineers and technical teams, in an attempt by the general manager, Mark Zuckerbergto reduce costs and make the company more efficient.
In March, Meta became the first major tech company to announce a second round of mass layoffs, which the company said would take place in three phases over several months, affecting 10,000 employees.

Wednesday’s cuts, while expected, drew expressions of frustration from Meta officials. The layoffs were the most popular questions posted on an internal company forum on Wednesday ahead of the next general employee meeting.
“You have destroyed the morale and confidence in the leadership of many hard-working high-level employees. Why should we stay on target?” an official said in a question seen by Reuters.
The question refers to Zuckerberg’s comments last year urging employees to work harder. The company declined to comment.
Meta’s first round of mass layoffs affected more than 11,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce at the time, and preceded other staff cuts at major tech companies.
