Guarulhos hosts the “Brazilian Amputee Football Cup 2023”

This Saturday (24) and Sunday (25), the city will host the 2023 Amputee Football Cup in Brazil. In this qualifying phase, the teams face: Assama Paraná, Pantanal, Assama Maringá, Faro and Adefgo.

Saturday (24) from 8:30 a.m., with official opening at 9:30 a.m., followed by matches until 5:00 p.m. at the Fair Play Arena, located at Rua Mônica Aparecida Moredo, 359 – Vila Fátima.

Sunday (25) from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fair Play Arena and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Euro Soccer Futebol Society at Avenida Guarulhos, 3117 – Ponte Grande.

The following teams will participate in the event:

Assama Parana (PR);

Pantanal (MS);

Assama Maringa (PR);

Faro (RJ);

Adefgo(Go);

With an estimated audience, in the interaction of the event, of approximately 200 people, among amputees, also 30 professionals from the region and 20 volunteers, duly trained to attend all situations relevant to the event, we will have a talent to show these two days with these athletes

The event receives extensive authorization and supervision from the Brazilian Amputee Football Confederation (CBFA), in compliance with all current biosecurity protocols, with the coordination of Instituto Estrela de Guarulhos and Guarulhos Futebol de Amputados.

As for the modality, it is practiced by people with unilateral amputees or congenital malformations of the lower limb, who with the help of Canadian-type crutches play on the line, and, for those who act as goalkeepers, amputation or malformation of the upper limb.

The realization of the event in Guarulhos Futebol de Amputados with the organization of the manager Rafael Calazans and with Rogério Marques President of Estrela de Guarulhos, with the support of the Municipality of Guarulhos through the Secretariat of Sports and Leisure, Business and partners: Adega Zero Grau, Arena Fair Play, Uni Transportes, Ticiano Americano, Fesma, Innova Brokers Soluções em Imóveis e Seguros, Leandro Dourado, Pegasus, SportAção, Euro, Euro Beach, Project Enter this Wave, Ong Lar da Tia Co and Helena Senna.

The event will be open to the public and will be supported by: TV Guarulhos, Jornal Guarulhos TODAY and the Cidade em Debate and Câmara Esportiva programs.

ABOUT THE AMPUTE GUARULHOS FOOTBALL TEAM

The Guarulhos Futebol de Amputados Team project began in an inclusive event that took place in the city of Guarulhos in 2017 when one of the team leaders, who is a physical education professional, Rafael Calazans, observed the talent that some of the participants showed and decided to start working with the support of journalist Kássia Franco.

At the end of 2019, through the indication of athletes in rehabilitation in clinics in the city of Guarulhos, and with the aim of helping people through sport to maintain their physical health, also developing a social and emotional role of self-esteem and appreciation for athletes, Guarulhos Football Amputee Team was born.

ABOUT THE MATCH FORMAT

The rules are adapted for amputee players divided into 2 halves of 25 minutes, where each team has 7 players including 6 amputees or with congenital malformation of a lower limb playing with Canadian crutches and 1 amputated goalkeeper or in loss of function in an upper limb.
