Spear Stroll I don’t have a good season Formula 1. Despite returning to points in more recent races, the Canadian Aston Martin he has only 37 goals in the season compared to his teammate’s 117 Fernando Alonso. The Silverstone team is behind the mercedes in the constructors’ championship, with a deficit of 13 points.
At Canadian GP, Stroll’s home race, the driver had a poor classification and only came out of 16th place. The recovery was even positive, with Lance closing in ninth place. Boss of Aston Martin, Mike Krak came to the pilot’s defense after the criticism, because Fernando Alonso climbed once again on the podium, with second place.
“[Na classificação], he suffered from control, and if you suffer like that, you do not have confidence, it is very difficult. AND [na corrida] he drove well. We pulled him out of traffic, and when he wasn’t there he made laps ahead on hard tyres. If you’re on the DRS train, it’s hard to go from 16 to 9. I think that’s a great achievement. On paper, he only looks ninth and his teammate was second, and you think that’s not a good performance. But considering where it came from, I thought it was pretty good,” Krack said.

Mike also defended Stroll’s performance in qualifying, as the Canadian has failed to reach Q3 in three of the last four races, and gave the example of Sergio Pérez’s performance at Red Bull. The boss also expects the Austrian and British GPs to improve, on high-speed circuits.
“Classification is fundamental for everyone. You see other fast cars like Sergio [Pérez] and it is difficult to move forward. I think he will take positives from it for the races to come. He knows he is strong on high-speed circuits and we have a few to come. I am convinced that we will score points with both cars,” he concluded.
