A salvage expert told Sky News the wreckage found in the Titan submarine’s search area on Thursday was from the missing ship.
According to him, the wreckage was a “support structure” and a “rear cover” of the submarine, which disappeared last Sunday (18) with five people on board during an expedition to the wreck of the Titanic.

David Mearns said he was part of a WhatsApp group involving The Explorers Club and his information came from the club chairman. However, these claims have not been confirmed.
More details could emerge at a U.S. Coast Guard press conference scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

The US Coast Guard says it found debris in areas near where the Titan submarine went missing.

A Canadian naval vessel called the Horizon Arctic was tasked with finding the wreckage. Since this Thursday morning, the Canadian probe has been working with robots to monitor the seabed in search of the missing submarine.
