the state of Tocantins is now a national tourist route Adventure, ecological, rural, sun and praia doce, experience, cultural, religious and gastronomic. Law 14.658 was sanctioned by interim President Geraldo Alckmin and published in the Official Gazette this Thursday (24).

According to the text, the objective is to develop the national tourist potential, in addition to enhancing the natural and cultural attractions of the region. Tocantins and thus foster entrepreneurship and innovation. Through tourism, the law also aims to promote local, sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

According to the latest Tourism Statistical Yearbook – published in 2022 with data from previous years – in 2021 Tocantins collected more than R$34.6 million, the fourth largest collection in the northern region of the country, behind Pará, which raised more than R$217. million in the same year and Amazonas, with nearly R$170 million.

Productive chain

With attractions with high tourist potential such as jalapão and Serras Gerais, the State has structured itself to increasingly develop the productive chain of the sector. And it bets on nature as the main attraction in the destinations offered by the destination. In the Integrated Tourist Platform made available by the Secretariat of Tourism of Tocantins, most of the attractions registered by the municipalities relate to boilers, rivers, waterfalls and freshwater beaches.

In addition, through the Interstate Consortium for the Development of Central Brazil (BrC), the State works in an integrated manner with the governments of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rondônia, Maranhão and the Federal District, to make the region more competitive and promote ecotourism and adventure tourism.
