A Kanye “Ye” West lookalike has caused trouble at a Florida nightclub in the United States by misleading staff and pretending he’s the real rapper.
The man, who has not been identified, entered the LIV nightclub in Miami and even convinced the DJ of the evening that he had an unreleased song to show the public. The track, however, is not authentic and was made using artificial intelligence.
“We’ve got Kanye West’s butt here tonight,” the DJ told the club crowd last weekend. He then mentioned the song, an alleged collaboration between West and popular Canadian rapper Drake.
“I’m about to play something I shouldn’t even have played. If you want to hear the new partnership between Kanye and Drake make some noise! F**** let’s go!” continued. The fake Kanye even took the stage on location.
The videos spread across social media and some TikTok users believed the story told by the lookalike. Nightclub employees reportedly kicked the man out when they discovered the prank.
Ironically, the real Kanye West was once present at LIV. In early 2020, the musician attended a post-Super Bowl party. He was pictured alongside club owner David Grutamn and designer Don C. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, other rap names, also attended the event.
Drake, who the fake Kanye claimed to have a partnership with, also had his personality copied by a lookalike. In 2021, a man known as “Fake Drake” began attending several ballads and events impersonating the singer.
Sources said the lookalike earned over R$20,000 per appearance. Last year, however, he was banned from Instagram and lost one of his main sources of self-promotion.
