Canada is experiencing days of apprehension because of its big star, Alphonso Davies, who, according to coach John Herdman, will not participate in the friendly match against Japan this Thursday at 10:40 a.m. (Brasilia time). The Bayern Munich full-back is still recovering from a right thigh injury.
Davies will undergo further tests by the end of the week to update his situation for the start of the World Cup, according to the newspaper “L’Équipe”. The full-back was injured on November 5 during Bayern’s match against Hertha Berlin. At the time, the Germans, in an official press release, assured that there was no risk of being eliminated for the World Cup.
Davies already had a physical problem earlier this year. The player was out for two months due to myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart.
Canada is in World Cup Group F and will make its debut on Wednesday, November 23 against Belgium. Morocco and Croatia are also part of the group.
