The date of October 27, 2023 has gone down in history as one of the most successful in Brazilian beach volleyball. First, Duda and Ana Patrícia beat Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson by 2 sets to 0 (22/20 and 21/18), thus guaranteeing the women’s title. A few hours later, André and George repeated the feat among the men with a moving victory over the Cubans Jorge Alayo and Noslen Díaz by 2 sets to 1 (21/12, 19/21 and 15/13) in the men’s decision . Couldn’t be better.
Rain of medals in boxing
Brazilian boxing was not left out either. This Friday alone, a day with finals in several categories, the country was on the podium nine times. Highlights include gold medals for Bia Ferreira (60 kg), Carol Almeida (50 kg), Jucielen Romeu (57 kg) and Bárbara Santos (66 kg). The day also saw silver medals from Wanderley Pereira (80kg), Tati Chagas (54kg), Keno Marley (92kg), Abner Teixeira (92kg) and Michael Douglas (51kg). Abner and Michael did not compete in their respective finals due to injuries, losing WO decisions.

In women’s basketball, Brazil beat Colombia 78 to 57, thus guaranteeing a first phase with 100% success. Already qualified for the semi-finals, the Brazilians will face Argentina. In the match against Colombia, the main Brazilian players were: Érika with 14 points and eight rebounds, Sossô with 13 points, Licinara and Carina with 11 points and, later, Sassá with nine.
Brazil loses unbeaten baseball record
The Brazilian baseball team took the field knowing they would be in the 2023 Pan Final, which is why they spared some athletes from the match against Mexico. The match was nevertheless balanced. Brazil ended up losing 5-1, with a near-perfect sixth set from the Mexicans. As a result, Brazil’s unbeaten record in the competition came to an end. Brazil in the tennis final
Luísa Stefani and Laura Pigossi qualified for the doubles final with a victory over Chileans Alexa Guarachi and Fernanda Labraña by 6/2 and 6/3.
