Currently, the city is in high season of activity, which takes place between the months of September and February of the following year.

Bodies are removed from a crashed plane in the morning; 14 died
The plane is an Embraer EMB-110 “Bandeirante”, which can accommodate up to 18 passengers, from the company ManausAerotáxi.

Bad weather in the area may have contributed to the accident. According to Civil Defense, it was raining heavily moments before the plane crashed.
Two planes that were going to land on the Barcelos runway before the crashed flight canceled their landing for safety reasons.
According to the State Government, it is not yet possible to determine the causes of the accident and investigations will be carried out by the Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA VII) and the Civil Police of Amazonas.
