Drake cancels Lollapalooza Brazil show

Sad news for Drake fans. The rapper had a performance scheduled for this Sunday, March 26 at Lollapalooza, but he will not come to Brazil. The news had already been given by Leo Diasbut now the rapper and the festival have released an official cancellation notice stating that his participation has indeed been canceled.

The event communicated to fans via Twitter, justifying that he would be missing important members of his team:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake finds himself without members of his sound and production team, essential to the Lollapalooza show in São Paulo. Drake was excited to perform in front of his fans in Brazil. Unfortunately, this is out of your control. Sorry”.

The announced replacement was DJ Internacional Skrillex. Still according to Léo Dias, Drake received the biggest fee of the festival, 4 million dollars (21.2 million Reais). The Lolla organization also informed that a refund request can be made. On social media, fans slammed the event:

WILLOW CANCELED

Don’t come anymore! This Wednesday March 15, the singer willow announced that he would not perform shows in South America, as planned. The cancellation was made for no apparent reason, less than ten days before her performance in Brazil, at Lollapalooza, and aroused the indignation of her fans.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to perform in front of my fans in South America and Mexico. I hope to come back very soon,” she said on her Twitter. Besides Brazil, she will also not perform in Argentina, Mexico and Chile.

A few hours later, the rapper Baco Exu do Blues was announced as the indie pop singer’s replacement.

FLASHING-182 IN 2024

This Wednesday March 1st, the punk-rock group, Flashes 182canceled his appearances at Lollapalooza Brazil. Besides the Canarian nation, the group has also confirmed that it will not perform in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Mexico.

The reason for this decision was reportedly the drummer’s broken finger, Travis Barker. He will have surgery this week, but it will be too late to recover in time for the performances. Singer Tom de Longe recorded a video explaining the situation and regretting what happened.

However, the group has promised that it will return in 2024, for performances in all canceled cities. Additionally, Lollapalooza Brasil production refunded tickets for those who purchased on Saturday 3/25, the date Blink would perform.

Finally, something new: the event announced that the duo Twenty-one pilots will replace the punk band at the festival. They recently came to Brazil, in November 2022, to promote the album “Scaled And Icy”.
