Brazil is the women’s beach volleyball champion at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The duo formed by Ana Patrícia and Duda is the gold medalist. They beat the Canadian pair Wilkderson/Humana-Paredes by 2 sets to 1 in a very exciting match.
After the title, Duda and Ana Patrícia hugged the fans to celebrate the title. The first set was to go to 26 points and the Brazilians closed 26-24. In the second set, the Canadians managed to put together good attack sequences and won 21-12.
In the tie-break, Duda had enough quality to get up and Ana Patrícia to attack. The golden point came in the arms of Ana Patrícia. The two Brazilians closed the set 15-10.
Ana Patrícia is from Minas Gerais, born in Espinosa (MG) and is twinned with Sergipe from Aracaju, Eduarda dos Santos “Duda” Lisboa. They are the current gold medalists of the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023 and have already won the world sports title in Rome and runner-up in Mexico.
The other Brazilians participating in the women’s tournament fell to the defeated Australians. Barbara Seixas and Carol Solberg lost 2 sets to 0 in the round of 16.
This is Brazil’s third gold medal at the Paris 2024 Games. The other two were won by Beatriz Souza in judo and Rebeca Andrade in artistic gymnastics. Currently, the country has 18 medals, six silver and nine bronze complete the list. In the medal table, the country occupies the 17th position.
