The voice actor shows a discussion between the Brazilian and the Canadian during the beach volleyball final

In addition to Brazil’s gold medal, the beach volleyball final saw a moment of tension between the opponents last Friday at Paris-2024. The Brazilian Ana Patrícia, who climbed to the highest place on the podium with her partner Duda, argued with the Canadian Brandie Wilkerson, which increased the atmosphere of rivalry in the third set of the decision. Voice actor Gustavo Machado showed the conversation in a video posted on social media.

— You did this, you did this — Ana Patrícia complained.
— I didn’t do it, I didn’t do anything. I celebrated by looking at my family who are right behind you – Brandie replied.
— Yes, you did that, you did that — added the Brazilian, who even raised a finger towards her opponent.

In the middle of a heated debate, the teammates sought to calm things down, while the referee intervened with a yellow card for each player.

After the match, Ana Patrícia and Brandie calmed the situation by clarifying that the disagreement remained on the field.

— I think disagreements are part of the game. She shouted at first, then thought it was bad that I shouted. We have already made our decision. These are things that happen in the game. We have immense respect for them — said the Brazilian.

— There was no fight, there was no fight. There are two teams and only one gold medal, we fought for the medal with intensity and passion. It happens. After the match, it’s just love and respect, — said the Canadian.

During their first participation as a duo in the Olympic Games, at Paris-2024, the Brazilians joined the select group of champions of this sport, in addition to having broken a 28-year taboo. The last and only gold medalists among women were Jaqueline Silva and Sandra Pires, in Atlanta-1996, during the debut of this sport on the Olympic program.

With this feat, Brazil returns to the Olympic podium in beach volleyball after failing at Tokyo 2020. The sport has 14 medals, four gold, seven silver and three bronze.
