The accident that killed 29-year-old Brazilian influencer Jesse Koz and his dog, named Shurastey, in the United States fI was seen by a couple of friends, who were traveling in a van right in front of them. They spent the weekend together and, on Monday (23), took the road to CanadaKoz’s last destination before arriving in Alaska, as he wished (read the accident below).

Alongside Dodongo, as the 1978 Beetle, with Balneário Camboriú (SC) plates, was nicknamed, Jesse traveled the Americas in the company of the Golden retriever. The duo were accompanied by more than 400,000 followers on social networks and had already crossed 16 countriesin addition to Brazil.
The couple Diego Strutz and Roana Petri Celeste published, Tuesday evening (24), the information that they were traveling with their friend in the neighboring country. (see below) at the time of the accident. The two have an Instagram profile, with nearly 100,000 followers, where they share the experience of traveling the Americas in a van.

“We had a very serious road accident yesterday. We did everything in our power to save Jesse and Shurastey, but sadly they died instantly,” they wrote.
Jesse and Shuraigow’s journey was part of a project called “Shurastey or Shuraigow?”, an adaptation inspired by The Clash’s hit song “Should I Stay or Should I Go.” Learn more about the project and the death of the man and dog in the video below:

At g1 SC, Roana said that the couple had been since Saturday morning (21) with the duo of Balneário Camboriú, in a camp in the state of Oregon, United States.

“We were going to enter Canada together. We left on Monday morning, a few minutes later the accident happened“, he recalls. The friend says that they would also go together, for a few days, to Alaska.
According to the traveler, Koz was unable to brake in time when a car stopped on the highway to make a left turn.
“Jesse couldn’t brake, lost control of the Beetle and crashed head-on into the car coming on the other side,” he recalls.
In his latest Instagram post, posted on Saturday, Jesse was thrilled to meet Diego and Roana.
“We are camping in the state of Oregon, in the middle of nowhere, and from here we continue our journey towards the border with Canada. But first we are going to visit a band that I am a fan of!! !”, he wrote.
The couple of friends launched, Tuesday evening, a “virtual crowdfunding” to pay for the steps to bring the body of Jesse and Shurastey to Brazil. “They deserve the greatest farewell that only we can give,” they wrote. The target of R$120,000 was reached a few hours later.

On Twitter, the governor of Santa Catarina, Carlos Moisés, said he had contacted the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos França, asking for the support of Itamaraty for the transfer of the bodies. According to the politician’s adviser, the minister asked to get in touch with the family in Santa Catarina. g1 SC tried to contact the case, but there was no response until the last update of the article.
