The rumor gained momentum after the singer himself requested that the show be brought forward – and after the entertainer landed in Rio de Janeiro the same day he performed at the event.

The bucket of cold water only came after Rock in Rio: after performing in Rio de Janeiro, the singer canceled the entire Latin American tour – which included shows in Chile and Argentina, in addition to Brazil (in Sao Paulo). The singer stressed, in a press release, that he was in a “battle with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome” and that he needed to “rest and see doctors”.
