Top favorites make their Seoul debut on Tuesday

Seoul, South Korea) – The top two seeds of the WTA 250 Seoul will make their first matches in the early hours of Tuesday. The round, which starts at midnight (Brasília time), will feature Latvian Jelena Ostapenko and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova as attractions.

Alexandrova enters the field around 2 a.m. The 2nd seed of the tournament and world number 24 faces North American Asia Muhammad. Shortly after, it will be debut time for Ostapenko, 19th in the standings and heavy favorite, who will face local guest Boyoung Jeong.

The main court program begins with the match between former French top 10 player Kristina Mladenovic against local guest Sohyun Park. In the last match of the day, Germany’s Tatjana Maria faces Canada’s Eugénie Bouchard. On the other courts, a highlight is also the debut of the 17-year-old Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva, former number 1 of the young people, who faces the French Chloé Pacquet.

Two Australians came forward, Lizette Cabrera beat Switzerland’s Lulu Sun 7/6 (7-4) and 6/2, while Kimberly Birrell passed Priscilla Hon 6/4, 6/4 and 6/4. In a duel between two local players, guest Na-Lae Han defeated Dayeon Back, coming from qualifying, by a double 6/1.
