the attacker jonathan david used his goal celebration in Canada’s 2-0 victory over Qatar on Friday (23) to protest against NikeSelection provider.

The reason would be the fact that the supplier does not present new uniforms for the team to participate in the World Cup this year, a fact that will happen exclusively with the Canadians.

During the celebration, the Nike logo was covered by the striker who plays for Lille, is sponsored by Adidas, and is currently one of the greats of the surprising selection, which qualified in the Concacaf qualifiers as leader.

Although neither party has officially commented on the situation, apparently the contract between the Canadian Football Federation with Nike does not provide for the release of uniforms annually, but every two years and as the last pieces were revealed in June 2021, there have been no specific pieces scheduled for the World Cup.

There is, logically, the fact that probably neither Nike nor the Federation believed in qualifying for Qatar, since the last Cup contested by the national team dates back to 1986.
