A worker hangs 100 meters from a crane in Canada

A worker was left hanging more than 100 meters in an accident involving a crane on Tuesday (5) in Ontario, Canada. According to Canadian broadcaster CBC News, the man is doing well despite the shock of having almost fallen.

In videos posted to social media, the crane can be seen swinging and the boy dangling from side to side waving his legs. Witnesses ask him to hold on and he is slowly brought back to the ground.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has confirmed the incident and that an investigator has been dispatched to investigate what happened.

“A worker was reported to have become entangled in a crane wire after hooking up a load. He was hoisted up and sustained injuries.”

A spokesperson for PCL Constructors Canada Inc. says the man is doing well.

“Luckily he was lowered to the ground safely and was not seriously injured,” he said.

Toronto police, firefighters and paramedics said they received no calls related to the incident.

PCL said it was “working with all relevant authorities” and an investigation was underway.
