The production follows young chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), who inherits a restaurant called “The Original Beef of Chicago”. He struggles to run the restaurant, while trying to get over a big family loss, working alongside mediocre kitchen staff who eventually become his family. The comedy-drama series is about food, family, the madness of hard work, the beauty of a sense of urgency, and its many downsides.

Created by Christopher Storer (Ramy), “The Bear” stars Jeremy Allen White (“Shameless”), Edwin Lee Gibson (“Mom and Dad”), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“The Dropout”), Ayo Edebiri (“ The Premise”), Lionel Boyce (“Loiter Squad”), Liza Colón-Zayas (“Justice Beyond the System”) and Abby Elliott (“Indebted”), as well as Canadian chef Matty Matheson.
