The matches, which will take place in Vila Belmiro (November 11) and Neo Química Arena (November 15), serve as preparation for the World Cup, scheduled for the second half of 2023 in Australia and New Zealand. Pia considers the two duels against the Canadians as fundamental.

“It’s going to be a very difficult game. Canada have improved their style of play, but we also have a different team. The key to facing Canada is to challenge the line of defense, which we couldn’t do against them at the Olympics. It will be important to have two matches because we will be able to test different things,” he said.

In addition, she wants to take advantage of the matches to widen her field of observation. “We have to give some players chances. And if you want to be connected, have a united team, it’s important to have players together more often. We are getting closer and closer to the hard core.

Palmeiras, current Libertadores champion, has two call-ups on the list: midfielder Ary Borges and striker Bia Zaneratto.
