This Friday (25), the State Prosecutor’s Office of Mato Grosso set up a working group with the aim of defining and implementing action strategies aimed at preventing and repressing acts that prevent the use of national and municipal highways. This is yet another measure adopted by the institution to guarantee the right to come and go and the safety of people circulating in these public spaces.
On Wednesday (23), the Attorney General of Justice, José Antônio Borges Pereira, had already recommended that the prosecutors inform the police forces that work in the municipalities so that they remove the tents and the objects that support the blockages.
Among the objectives of the MPMT working group, in accordance with Ordinance 936/2022, are the monitoring of manifestations, the collaboration with the public authorities in order to contribute to the elaboration, complementation or correction of the actions adopted and the carrying out of investigations into the possible performance of public bodies in adopting measures to prevent and suppress blockages. The group, made up of 14 prosecutors, will also be responsible for proposing, jointly or separately, the necessary administrative or legal measures in relation to the case.
The working group will continue its activities until December 31 of this year, without prejudice to a possible extension, which could occur if the reasons which determined its constitution are maintained. In addition, the ordinance provides for the obligation to submit a report on the work carried out, every 15 days, to the Attorney General of Justice.
The group includes prosecutors Mauro Zaque de Jesus, coordinator of the Operational Support Center for Knowledge and Information Security (CAOP/CSI); Milton Mattos da Silveira Neto, Secretary General of the Public Ministry; Ana Carolina Rodrigues Alves Fernandes de Oliveira (Nova Mutum), Saulo Pires de Andrade Martins (Lucas do Rio Verde), Marcio Florestan Berestinas (Sorriso), Roberta Cheregati Sanches, Guilherme Ignácio de Oliveira and Pompílio Paulo Azevedo Silva (Sinop), Rodrigo Ribeiro Domingues (Tangará da Serra), Ivonete Bernardes Oliveira Lopes (Rondonópolis), Marcos Brant Gambier Costa (Barra do Garças), João Marcos de Paula Alves (Sapezal), Luiz Augusto Ferres Schimith (Campo Novo do Parecis), Luciano Martins da Silva ( Primavera do Leste), Luis Alexandre Lima Lentisco (Água Boa) and Roberta Camara Gomes Vieira de Souza (Porto Alegre do Norte).
The coordination of the work is entrusted to the prosecutor Mauro Zaque.
