Nadal completes a series of exhibitions in the Mexican capital

Mexico City, Mexico) – After visiting five South American countries in the last 10 days, Spaniard Rafael Nadal will end his end-of-season exhibition streak with his first appearance in Mexico City. Once again, he will face the Norwegian Casper Ruud tonight.

Nadal has business in Mexico and has participated in the ATP 500 in Acapulco several times, but has never been to the country’s capital. Tonight’s game will take place in the Monumental Plaza de Toros, the same place where Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev beat the attendance register tennis, in November 2019.

“I love Mexico very much, both as a tennis player and as a tourist, and it will be exciting to play again in front of the Mexican public, which has followed me for so long,” Nadal said.

He has also volunteered for the Help and Solidarity for Street Girls foundation, which has existed for 29 years and today works with more than 80 children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. “It’s something we also do in Spain, through the Rafa Nadal Foundation, where we support education and sport in the quest for a more positive future,” he said.

The schedule calls for a mixed doubles playoff, in which locals Santiago González and Renata Zarazua will face North American Jack Sock and Canadian Leylah Fernandez.
