Brazilian linebacker Ryan David will be playing his second season in the Canadian Football League. This week, the Calgary Stampeders announced that they have extended the relationship with the Brazilian player until 2023.
This year, Ryan David recently competed in the CFL Combine and caught the eye of the Canadiens, who picked him in the second round of this year’s World Draft. During the pre-season, the Brazilian earned a place in the team.
During the season, Ryan David has spent most of the year training with the first team. However, at the end of the Stamps’ regular season, the Brazilian was used against Saskatchewan.
In contact with Valinor Content, Ryan Davi stresses that the recognition of his work is important not only for him, but also for American football in Brazil.
“I think it’s important not only for me, but for the whole FABR. I’m extremely happy that they renew my bond and trust me again for a second season”, he underlined .
Regarding his experience in the second strongest American football league in the world, Ryan draws a positive assessment of the period. “They gave me time and I was able to adapt smoothly to the rules of CFL and different from the sporting level,” he explained.
Asked about expectations for the next season, the Brazilian linebacker stresses that he will work hard in the pre-season to have a great year in 2024.
“I hope I can have a great off-season. The results of my season will come from this period of this off-season. I will seek even more and, if God gives me the opportunity, I can take advantage of all the chances”, a- he added.
This season, the Calgary Stampeders reached the CFL Conference Semi-Finals.

Ryan started his sports career in 2016 playing for the BH Eagles team and the following year he was already a highlight of domestic American football, elected as a revelation player in the BFA League and later called up for Brasil Onças, the Brazilian national football team.
