THE epic games is being sued over its most successful game, Fortnite, the class action lawsuit filed by multiple parents who claim their children stopped sleeping and bathing to play Fortnite🇧🇷
The Epic Games game was designed to be extremely appealing to 10-15 year olds, however, this has parents and guardians worried about the health of children. One of the kids who matches the parents’ complaint is a young man who spent more than 7,700 hours inside the game in just two years, or nearly 320 days.
The idea for the process began in 2019, through the law firm calex cool, who requested the support of the Canadian court to proceed with the opening of the procedure. One of the lawyers involved in the case, Alessandra Esposito Chartrandalleged that Epic Games had “hired psychologists” to make the game as appealing to young people as possible.
According to the lawyer, there is no alert from the company concerning the possibility of addiction to players, informing about the risks of addiction. The court analyzed the case for 3 years, debating whether to prosecute or not.

Approval of the suit was granted because, according to Montreal CTV, the judge noted that the suit was not awash with reasons for its existence. To combat this series of actions, Epic Games, the company that created Fortnite, has decided to “fight this in court”.
Company spokeswoman Natalie Munoz told ABC News that Fortnite has a parental care system, which can relate to weekly playtime, saying it has “the finest parental controls that allow guardian gamers to oversee their children’s digital experience, so it’s also the family’s responsibility to look after minors’ time in-game.
