Snowstorm leaves more than 20 dead and thousands without power in the United States

A massive snowstorm continues to wreak havoc across the United States, leaving more than 20 dead and thousands without power on Christmas Eve. On Saturday (24) alone, more than 3,000 flights were cancelled.

There is still no official death toll., and the figures published by the local press differ. CNN, for example, speaks of 26 deaths; USA Today, 24; to NBC News, “at least 28”.

Blizzard doesn’t give up

Christmas Day will also be very snowy and extremely cold in the United States.

According to the NWS, the storm is expected to move south, bringing wind and snow to areas of the Great Plains – which cover states like South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas, for example – and the Valley of the Mississippi River.
