Defender Steven Vitória of Desportivo de Chaves and midfielder Stephen Eustáquio of FC Porto are part of Canada’s 26 squad, released this Sunday, for the World Cup 2022as well as injured striker Alphonso Davies.
The experienced centre-back and usual holder of the emblem of Trás-os-Montes and the midfielder of the “dragons”, who has distinguished himself with four goals and two assists in the last four meetings, deserve the confidence of coach John Herdman.
Striker Alphonso Davies of Germany’s Bayern Munich was injured but is on the list, along with striker Jonathan David, coached by Paulo Fonseca at Lille.
Canada are in Group F of the 2022 World Cup, which takes place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, alongside Morocco, Croatia and Belgium.
