Canada releases official list of 26 players called up for World Cup in Qatar – 13/11/2022

One of the most interesting World Cup presences to play in Qatar from next Sunday (20), Canada return to the World Cup after 36 years. The first and only participation took place in 1986, when the tournament was played in Mexico. And the team is ready to play the 2022 edition. In the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Football (Concacaf) qualifiers, the Canadian team played the first phase with a presence in Group B, alongside Suriname, from Aruba, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. He won all four games, with 27 goals scored and only one conceded, and secured a place in the second phase. In the elimination match against Haiti, he won both duels with an aggregate score of 4–0 and qualified for the decisive phase. In the third phase, eight teams competed in the final octagon. The top three had a direct seeding and fourth place would go to the repechage. With eight wins, four draws and two losses in 14 games, the Canadians led the way with 28 points, tied with Mexico but ahead on goal difference.

At the World Cup, Canada is in Group F alongside Belgium, Croatia and Morocco. His debut will be against the Belgians, at 4 p.m. Wednesday (23) at the Ahmad bin Ali stadium. Then they will play against the Croats at 1 p.m. on Sunday (27) and will close the group stage against the Moroccans on Thursday, December 1, at noon at the Al Thumama stadium.
