Find out which are the best passports in 2024; Brazil is 20th – News

The British company Henley & Partners has prepared a ranking that lists the best passports for 2023. The number of countries each citizen can enter without applying for a visa, whether for tourism or work, was used as a parameter by the company.

According to the company, Japan has the most countries that local citizens can enter freely: 193. Close behind are Asians, Singapore and South Korea, with 192 countries.

At the start of the European list, Germany and Spain are not far from the countries of the East, with 190 nations which do not need a visa to receive their citizens.

The first Latin American country on the list, Chile is in 18th position, with freedom of movement for 174 states for its citizens. Close behind are Argentina and Brazil, in 20th position, with 170 visa-free countries.

At the bottom of the list are territories in Asia, Africa and, in particular, the Middle East. Among the ten worst passports are those of North Korea (40 countries do not require a visa), Palestine (38), Syria (30), Iraq (29) and Afghanistan ( 27).

Normally, the free movement of citizens is achieved after bilateral agreements or with political-economic blocs, such as the European Union. The security, economy and political stability of the country are also taken into account, which justifies the disparity between Japan and Afghanistan, for example.
