Six Brazilians take part in this year’s FIFA The Best award

Announced Thursday (12), The Best, a prize from the International Football Federation (Fifa) will include the participation of seven Brazilians this year. Three compete in the category of the best seasons: Neymar and Vinícius Júnior in the male category and Debinha in the female category.

Goalkeepers Alisson and Ederson compete for the best position award. Sweden’s Pia Sundhage, coach of the women’s national team, also represents Brazil in the race for the best coach. In the dispute for The best male, Neymar (third in 2015 – when the award was with France Football’s Ballon d’Or magazine – and 2017) and Vini Jr. will face Argentinians Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez, England’s Jude Bellingham , the French Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappé, the Belgian Kevin de Bruyne, the Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, the Polish Robert Lewandowski, the Senegalese Sadio Mane, the Croatian Luka Modric and the Egyptian Mohamed Salah.

The other two are Sonia Bompastor, who manages Lyon (France), and Emma Hayes, who manages Chelsea (England) and is the current winner. Last winners in 2020, Wiegman led England to the Euro 2022 title.
