The 2023 motor vehicle property tax schedule expires this Thursday (19) for taxpayers with the end of license plates 1 and 2 to be paid in cash with a 3% reduction or the first installment of the tax.

This year there are more payment options. It is possible to pay in five instalments, without discount, in cash, with a 3% discount, or with a credit card, which allows the tax to be paid in a maximum of 12 instalments, with interest for the current year ( 2023).

There is also an option to download the Collection Guide with QrCode via PIX, another convenience for the taxpayer. The discharge can be made through the electronic channels of any banking institution or even through applications, not limited to those that have a contract with the state.

Moreover, through the new State Revenue Rapid Services app, the taxpayer will be able to access the services offered on the Sefa site in the palm of his hand and will be able to pay the IPVA via the application. The app is available for download from Google and Apple stores.

The rate varies from 3.5% or 1% of the value of the vehicle. The IPVA is one of the main sources of tax collection in Paraná, second only to the tax on the circulation of goods and interstate and intermunicipal transport and communication services (ICMS). The State allocates 50% of the amount collected with the tax to the municipality where the vehicle is registered.

The discharge of the IPVA is a mandatory condition for the issuance of the vehicle registration certificate by the Detran-PR. It is up to the taxpayer to assess the most favorable conditions for paying the tax and, if he chooses to pay by credit card, he must demand proof of payment of the tax receivables collected.

The payment system is only virtual. The taxpayer receives no correspondence. Guides must be issued by the Fazenda site.
