One giant octopus was spotted by fishermen from shrimp in the Canadian sea. The images of the sea animal ended up going viral on TikTok.
The video was recorded by fisherwoman Brooke Sattar, who gave an interview to the Canadian press. The Vancouver resident reported that the cephalopod attached itself to the shrimp bait for about 3 minutes. Then the animal returned to the bottom of the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The TikTok post has amassed over 40 million views and 2 million likes. The footage was recorded by the fisherwoman in the Albert Inlet fjord on Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada.
“We started pulling the trap, which was very heavy, so we thought it was full of shrimp,” he said. “The color of the octopus also confused us,” the Canadian said in an interview with CNBC.
