Imagine earning C$100,000 (about R$400,000) a year for staying home and tasting sweets. Well, that’s the job offered by a Canadian company.
To apply for the position of ‘Candy Chef’ (something like ‘Candy Manager’, loosely translated) at Candy Funhouse, no previous experience is required – but the candidate cannot have any type of food allergy and must have ‘taste buds like gold’.
The business also requires a creative mind and a love for sweets. And, in addition to the salary, the future employee – who will taste at least 3,500 sweets per month! – will be entitled to a dental care plan.
The vacancy is for anyone over the age of 5 (hi, kids), but you must live in Canada or the United States, because although the future tester can work from home, the “home” will have to be at Toronto, Canada, or the Newark area of the US state of New Jersey.
The future employer also promises “a lot of pleasure” to the future Chief Candy Officer, but also work: it will be up to the entrepreneur to decide which new products will be included in the catalog and to lead the meetings of the “candy council”.
But the competition will be tough: in an interview with CNN USA, the company’s executive director, Jamal Hejazi, said he had already received thousands of applications, including entire families offering to share chores and jobs.
