According to Silvério Regalado, after the Chamber of Vagos became aware of these closure intentions, an audience was requested with the Minister of Health, Manuel Pizarro, in addition to a meeting scheduled for Monday with the Regional Health Administration ( ARS) of the Center.

“Regardless of political color, all Vagos must side with the people. It is not an attack only against these three localities, it is against the whole municipality of Vagos”, he underlined.

During the last session of the Municipal Assembly of Vagos, which was held on the 17th, the mayor of Vagos told the elected officials of his indignation at the possibility of the closure of these three health facilities.

At the time, he called on all elected officials to join this position of the municipality, with the aim of working to avoid these closures.

The president of the Municipal Assembly of Vagos, Rui Santos, also repudiated this intention to close the health units of the municipality, stressing that it is a decision that clearly harms the population.

“We cannot remain silent in the face of such injustice, which sacrifices the people who need it most, in an area as important as health,” he argued.

The president of the Union of the parishes of Fonte de Angeão and Covão do Lobo, Albano Gonçalves, as well as the president of the parish council of Gafanha da Boa Hora, Arlindo Neves, also promised to fight so that the closures do not take effect. .
