The 2023 Oscar, which was held this Sunday (12), in Los Angeles, generated many memes among Internet users. Among them, the dress of the Nigerian singer, who stole the show at the ceremony. At the awards show, singer Temilade Openiyi, or Tems, 27, wore a dress with a white veil that wrapped around her head and ended up blocking the view of the guests who sat behind her.
Internet users have not let this situation go viral on social networks. “Imagine waiting your whole life to be at the Oscars and ending up sitting behind a cloud,” writer Jerrett Bellini said in a post.
In another post, Canadian actor Devon Sawa commented on the situation. “I’m sitting here. The good news is I’m at the Oscars. The bad news is that I don’t see anything,” he joked.
Tems was in the running, as co-writer of the hit “Lift me Up”, from the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, for the best song at the 2023 Oscar. The song was performed by singer Rihanna and was a tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 of colon cancer.
However, the award-winning song was “Naatu Naatu”, from the Indian film “RRR: Revolt, Rebellion, Revolution”.
