Brazil’s women’s team were beaten in the second round of the She Believes Cup on Sunday (19). Against Canada, at GEODIS Park, USA, Brazil couldn’t contain the Canadians and lost 2-0.

The Brazilians will have a great challenge to face. On Wednesday (22), they will face the current leaders and champions of the tournament, the USA national team. To have a chance of being champions, Brazil must win and eliminate the goal difference, which is four goals. Also, it depends on the outcome of Canada’s next game.

The Canadians will face Japan, which has no title shot, also on Wednesday. Canada depends on the result of the match against Brazil and can only be champions if the United States does not score.

The game

The goals of the match came out in Brazilian fouls. In the 25th minute of the first half, the team’s defense tried to clear a ball in the middle of the box, but ended up putting it at the foot of Gilles. The striker took the opportunity and hit Lorena’s right corner, 1-0.

Canada extended the lead to 30 in the second half. After a corner from the right, Viens climbed the first post to head in. Defender Lauren, who was coming up to contest the ball, ended up slipping and couldn’t get off the ground. Without an appointment, the touch of the Canadian left no chance for Lorena to defend herself.
