U.S. sells 1.246 million tons of 2022/23 corn, USDA says – Money Times

exporters of WE reported sales of 1.246 million tonnes of but of the 2022/23 harvest in the week ended March 30, informed this Thursday 6, the united states department of agriculture (USDA). Sales were 20% higher than the previous week, but 26% lower than the average of the previous four weeks.

During the week, the main buyers were China (586.1 thousand t), undisclosed destinations (164.5 thousand t), Mexico (143.6 thousand tons), Japan (117 thousand t) and South Korea (77.8 thousand t), which offset the cancellations made by hong kong (41.9 thousand t), Panama (26 thousand t) and Canada (18.2 thousand t).

For the 2023/24 agricultural campaign, sales of 26,200 tons in Japan have been declared.

Sales were in line with the forecasts of analysts consulted by the Dow Jones Newswirewhich forecast a volume of between 800,000 tonnes and 1.6 million tonnes in the week.

Shipments for the period totaled 1.136 million tonnes for the week, 70% above the previous week and 8% on the average of the previous four weeks. The main destinations were Mexico (461.9 thousand t), South Korea (197.3 thousand t), Japan (130.2 thousand t), Saudi Arabia (73.5 thousand t) and Guatemala (56.4 thousand t).
