The act took place during a meeting with several aviation and tourism leaders and has the support of IATA, ALTA and JURCAIB
The president of the Brazilian Association of Airlines (ABEAR), Eduardo Sanovicz, today (20) delivered to the candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a letter containing proposals from the air sector for the candidates for the presidency of the Republic. The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) and the Council of Representatives of International Airlines of Brazil (JURCAIB) also sign the document. The act took place during a meeting between Lula’s campaign and representatives and directors of aviation and tourism, in São Paulo. A total of 26 entities participated. The gubernatorial candidates, Fernando Haddad (PT), and the senator, Márcio França (PSB), participated in the event.
“One of our demands is to build in Brazil an environment of costs, rules and taxes similar to that experienced by global aviation. We want the same conditions of competition as American, European and Asian companies. Brazil is the only country on the planet to tax QAV. These debates need to take place here so that we can once again offer much better conditions to Brazilian consumers,” Sanovicz said.
