The Brazilian women’s beach volleyball duo, Agatha and Duda, defeated the Canadians Bansley and Brandie by 2 sets to 0, a double 21 to 18. With this result, the Brazilians qualified for the round of 16 of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, in second place in Group C, behind the Chinese teams Wang and Xia, who won all three matches in the first phase.

The Brazilians will now have to wait until the end of the round to find out which pair they will face in the round of 16, which will be played from Monday.

First set: 21 to 18

The start was balanced, with the Brazilians and Canadians taking turns at the top of the score. The timeout served to calm the Canadians down and when they returned to the court, the Brazilians closed the set.

As in the first set, the set was played point by point. However, the Brazilians showed their quality and took a five-point lead in the final stretch, making the score 18 to 13. From then on, they managed the result until winning the match.
