An agricultural solutions company in Monte Azul Paulista (SP) will be managed by a Canadian multinational from this Thursday (2).
The purchase of Safra Rica, in the interior of São Paulo, by Nutrien was approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) at the end of last month. Transaction amounts, however, were not reported.
Safra Rica has 19 years of history and operates in São Paulo and Minas Gerais in the sale of agricultural defenses, fertilizers, nutritional products and seeds. Currently, the staff consists of 96 people.
“We now have control of the business and are involved in operations. We have a structured plan that is rolling out over time. “said Deputy – President of Business Operations at Nutrien in Latin America, Carlos Brito.
Also according to Brito, with the start of operations, producers of cereals, sugar cane and citrus fruits could have access to the agricultural technologies of the Canadian company.
“São Paulo is a very representative region in the Brazilian agricultural scenario and in the region of Safra Rica there is a high technology of farmers and it is a multicultural region”.
Safra Rica has approximately 1,800 customers in the regions of Ribeirão Preto (SP), São José do Rio Preto (SP) and southern Minas Gerais.
