Air Canada agrees to terms with pilots and will no longer need to suspend flights

Canadian airline Air Canada announced yesterday, September 15, that it has reached a four-year tentative collective agreement with the pilots’ union (ALPA – Air Line Pilots Association), which represents more than 5,200 pilots at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge.

The airline says the new agreement recognises the contributions and professionalism of its pilot group, while also providing a framework for the airline’s future growth.

The terms of the new agreement will remain confidential until a ratification vote by members, expected to take place next month, and approval by Air Canada’s board of directors.

Customers who have used the airline’s goodwill policy in the event of a work disruption by changing their flights originally scheduled for the period between 15 and 23 September 2024 to another date before 30 November 2024 can change their reservation to return to the original flight in the same cabin, free of charge, subject to availability.

Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge will continue operations as normal and for more information customers should visit the airline’s website.
