Air Canada has announced new features for its products and services. The enhancements include an expansion of onboard food and beverage offerings, as well as more family-friendly options in the onboard entertainment library. The airline’s app has also been updated. These are the latest additions that are part of the “More to Travel” initiative, which includes a series of continuous improvements to its travel products and services.
“We are excited to offer more food and beverage options as we continue to enhance the overall Air Canada onboard experience. The goal is to cater to a variety of tastes and preferences, including products not currently available on any other Canadian airline,” said Jacqueline Harkness, Executive Director of Products and Services at Air Canada.
More Menu Options
Air Canada is now adding Earth’s Own oat milk, a Canadian alternative to plant-based milk – a first for a Canadian airline; new beverage options including: Blue Moon Belgian White and Hop Valley IPA craft beers, as well as Vizzy Strawberry Orange Mimosa Hard Seltzer; and rosé wine from Provence, France and Aperol Spritz (available in Air Canada Signature Class on international flights).
Butter Chicken with Rice Pilaf, Cauliflower Masala and Peas are among the new menu options available to Premium Economy and Economy customers on select flights.
More family fun with new content from Mattel
Through a global partnership with Mattel, the airline will be the only Canadian airline to offer some of the most popular children’s cartoons as in-flight entertainment. The comprehensive selection of shows and movies adds dozens of hours of kid-friendly content to Air Canada’s award-winning in-flight entertainment system, with new content partners arriving soon.
“Air Canada is proud to be the only Canadian airline to offer exclusive Mattel products, such as Hot Wheels in the City, Thomas and Friends: Learning with Thomas, as well as episodes of the Barbie vlog – coming soon after the launch of most of the summer’s most anticipated film,” said John Moody, general manager of product design at Air Canada.
More convenience and more features for the Air Canada app
The latest updates to the Air Canada app provide quick and easy access to important travel information throughout your trip. These include mobile boarding passes, easier to use at security and boarding, with continuous and transparent updates; and easier airport navigation with integrated maps of major Air Canada and Star Alliance airports.
Air Canada Signature and Premium Economy customers also have the option to pre-order in-flight meals on select international flights departing from Canada.
“Our customers want digital information and tools that meet their real-time needs as they navigate busy airports. Our goal is to deliver contextual travel information directly to our customers’ devices through the award-winning Air Canada app. We have more improvements to come,” said Derek Whitworth, executive director of digital customer technology at Air Canada.
Offer more for travel
There is also a partnership with Bell, announced in May, which launched with free text messaging service via in-flight Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members.
The airline also recently added three new premium lounges, bringing Air Canada’s lounge network to 29 worldwide. These include a new Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the new Aspire | Air Canada Café at Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ), in the convenient downtown Toronto terminal, and Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), featuring the new United Club.
