A Air Canada and Canadian communications company Bell have announced a partnership to provide on-board Internet connectivity. Starting tomorrow (11), passengers who are members of the company’s loyalty program Aeroplan will be able to send free messages in flight.
Partnership between Air Canada and Bell
The offering will allow passengers to send and receive text messages via built-in Wi-Fi, using messaging apps such as iMessage, WhatsApp and Messenger from Meta, Viber from Rakuten and Messages from Google. The partnership will also be extended to Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express flights.
Additionally, this benefit will be available to loyalty members of strategic partner airlines when their account numbers are associated with an Air Canada booking. The facility will include United MileagePlus, Lufthansa Group Miles & More and Emirates Skywards customers.
Free chip ground internet
Through this new partnership, newcomers and visitors to Canada will have simple and immediate ways to stay connected upon arrival. Bell will provide complimentary mobile SIM cards on select international flights, and newcomers will be able to activate the service in-flight so they can connect immediately after their plane lands.
News about Aeroplan and in-flight entertainment
Consistent with Air Canada and Bell’s commitment, this partnership will expand areas of collaboration and deliver customer benefits, including the development and delivery of Aeroplan promotional rewards. In addition, it will also expand Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment offering with the expansion of live television service on flights to the United States.
