Left side of the team Bayern Munichand one of the main players of Canada’s national team, which will play its first world Cup after a long spell, Alphonso Davies became a concern due to an injury suffered while still playing in the German league.
The defender is on the road to recovery and has caused some concern among Canada’s coaches as the country’s World Cup debut is just days away and the defender is still not fit to play.
The winger’s absence has been confirmed by Canadian national team coach John Herdman who also said that every effort is being made to ensure that Davies is there for World Cup games in Qatar.
Davies’ problem is muscle discomfort, which happened about 10 days ago during a Bayern Munich game for the German league, and even with the risk of the player being ruled out, Herdman chose to call him. Davies is an important player for Canada and was one of the key players in the campaign that ended the country’s historic rankings for this year’s Cup dispute.
