During his first matches at the head of the Brazilian women’s team, Arthur Elias analyzed the matches against Canada, during the friendly matches in October. In the first match, 1-0 against Brazil last week, and this Tuesday (31), the Canadians won 2-0.

The Brazil coach, who made his debut on the field, said it was a construction project, given the few days of training.

– It’s a construct. We can put more pressure on the opponent, we can work on possession of the ball, as we did in particular in the second half of the first match (last week, the first friendly match). And in this first half, I really liked our posture, with possession of the marking. So, I think we weren’t consistent throughout the 90 minutes of each game. And that’s what we’re going to look for now. But the show is there. I think the Seleção showed that we can play differently, with a new understanding of the athletes within a characteristic, that they enjoy playing and feel comfortable – emphasized the coach.

And he also talked about the call-up and what each player brings to the team:

– Optimistic, calm, because we know the plan we have for the future. This gives players the opportunity to transfer what they do at clubs, training with us. So I think this call-up brought us a lot more resources than what we did at Granja Comary, because that’s football here. We have to be calm, position ourselves when the opponent is better, like Canada was better at certain moments in the second half – explained Arthur Elias about the work he did with the national team.
