The starting defender of the Canadian national team, Moïse Bombito, is one of the targets of the Eagle Holding Football group, John Textor’s company. The probable destination of the defender seems to be Botafogo, despite the trend that an agreement could be reached in the future for a transfer to Lyon. The information comes from journalist Sergio Santana of the site “GE”.

The player’s signing came at Eagle’s expense. He is 24 years old and in only his second year as a professional and has only played 30 games for the Colorado Rapids in his career. Moses chose to finish his college education and joined the American team through the “Draft”, the same system used in basketball and American football. For this reason, he turned professional late.

Even with little time as a professional, the player caught the attention of his country’s national team and began to be called up in the post-cup cycle, first by interim coach Mauro Biello and now by new permanent coach Jesse Marsch. He was a starter against Argentina, in the Copa América debut.

The group that manages Alvinegro believes that Bombito is a player who has potential, but who still needs to improve. For this reason, the company suggested that he be sent to Botafogo. In addition, the club’s management found the player interesting.

According to the website, negotiations are at an advanced stage. The player has already agreed on his salaries with the management of Eagle Football – now it remains to agree with his team, the Colorado Rapids – the player will not be able to return to play in MLS after the end of the Copa América. His transfer would be made directly to Botafogo, without having a predefined time for his transfer to Lyon, who, if hired, will monitor the player closely.

Defense is one of the positions considered a priority by the Alvinegra board for the next window. The arrival of the player would not rule out another more “hype” signing for the sector, since Moïse Bombito would arrive initially to join the Botafogo squad.
